Case Study: Western PA Go Guide
Venture Outdoors is a not-for-profit organization that seeks to increase participation in outdoor recreational activity among the residents of and visitors to Western Pennsylvania. Western Pennsylvania and nearby sections of West Virginia and Ohio contain a wide variety of beautiful and accessible outdoor places. The opportunities to participate in many types of outdoor recreation activities are equal to those of any other region of the country. There are hundreds of outdoor recreation organizations, clubs and outfitters in the region that all coordinate events at locations throughout the area. Venture Outdoors uses Rhiza’s Community Catalog web application to allow each of the outdoor recreation organizations the ability to enter their own events and display them through the Western PA Go Guide . The website also allows Venture Outdoors’ members to “take content with them” and display it on their own website via easy to configure web service feeds.
